Academic Support
At Hyla, we recognize that every student learns differently, and we are committed to supporting a wide range of learning styles, strengths, and challenges.Academic support is woven into the daily life of the school so that students can develop confidence as learners, discover strategies that work for them, and experience success in both their studies and personal growth.
In the Middle School, support often happens through close teacher-student relationships, small class sizes, and opportunities for individualized attention. Teachers know their students well and partner with families to address needs as they arise.
In the Upper School, students benefit from a dedicated program called Learning Resources, which provides time during the school day to build executive functioning skills such as organization, time management, and project planning. This program helps students navigate the increasing independence of high school while ensuring they have tools and structures to succeed.
Across both divisions, Hyla’s approach to academic support is rooted in care and collaboration. Advisors, teachers, and our school counselor work together to help students advocate for themselves, use available resources, and take pride in their progress. Our goal is not only to meet academic needs, but also to nurture self-confidence, resilience, and a love of learning.
